Lugubrious took approximately three weeks to develop. During this period, we consulted with experts in psychology to minimize deviations in the gameplay experience. Considering the scope of the game, we prioritized highlighting the distinct characteristics of individuals with social anxiety over designing complex gameplay mechanics. As a result, we simplified the controls and difficulty, focusing instead on simulation of the experience. In the final playtest, the game received highly positive feedback.
